The only things that I prefer not to read is cheating and lack of communication but idk if those are considered tropes and again I wouldn’t completely avoid those types of books but they will get a lower rating from me. Tropes can be helpful, but a novel made up only of tropes will quickly start to feel stale and predictable to readers.
